FRESNO — Outstanding performances but no medals for the 19 El Dorado County carriers participating in last Saturday’s CIF State Championship Cross Country finals at Woodward Park in Fresno.

The Thanksgiving weekend meet officially closed the CIF prep season. Of the 19 runners, 14 were on two teams: Golden Sierra’s boys and El Dorado’s girls who finished 19th and 21st, respectively.

Solid performances were turned in by Union Mine’s Makana Kauhaahaa and Grizzly Ryan Sewell who both turned in a career best times; and Cougar Boone Bates who posted a season best time on the 5,000 meter course.

Oak Ridge’s Rachel Peterson clocked in with the best girl’s time.
