EL DORADO HILLS — The El Dorado Hills Thunder U12 girls soccer team defeated the Petaluma Bulldogs in convincing fashion by a score of 4-0 on August 19th to capture the 2nd Annual El Dorado Hills Soccerfest Tournament.
The Thunder played tenacious defense over the course of the two-day tournament allowing just two goals in four games. The balanced Thunder offense, sparked by a crisp ball-controlled passing attack, found the back of the net 19 times with seven different players scoring goals in the tournament.
This marks the team’s third championship of the young season, having previously won first place at the CUFA Lake Tahoe Tournament and the Santa Cruz Breakers Tournament.
The Thunder took part in the Santa Cruz Breakers Cup Soccer Tournament on August 4-5 and came home as champions in the Gold Division after defeating the Cal Blues Shock 3-0 to take first place.
