EL DORADO HILLS — Another impressive perimeter shooting display featuring 10 three-pointers carried Oak Ridge past Sheldon 66-43 Friday.

The Trojans’ Delta River League win came on Senior Night as the program honored Ali Bettencourt, Jenn Hoffman, Michelle Barkley and Celeste Vitolas.

“It’s a special group — fun to be around, fun to coach and great people,” Oak Ridge coach Steve White said about the seniors before discussing the game. “I thought we brought good energy, moved the ball well and defensively did some nice things.”

One was forcing Husky shots at or late in the shot clock, especially in the first half when Troy separated. With Bettencourt, Yumi Drossos and Hoffman each hitting multiple threes, Oak Ridge built a 20-point halftime lead.

Though Sheldon got on track in the second half and hit shots, so did the Trojans. Barkley sank a three as did Hoffman, Saraya Smith and Drossos over the final two quarters as Oak Ridge improved to 9-0 in league.

Hoffman and Bettencourt shared team scoring honors with 13 apiece; Shelby Peters and Drossos scored nine each; Barkley had seven; Vitolas scored all six of her points to close the game; Smith tallied five; and Grace Derksen and Isamar Conde had two each.

“The night was memorable and everyone contributed,” the senior quartet said. “This team has great chemistry and we love playing for Oak Ridge. We have the potential to make a deep run in the playoffs and our goal is a state championship.”
