Two of the five El Dorado County high school football teams will host controlled scrimmages tomorrow.
Oak Ridge will host Colfax at 8:30 a.m. El Dorado will kick off its jamboree that also features Ponderosa, Rosemont and Rio Americano. The varsity teams are scheduled to start at 6:30 p.m.
In other action, Union Mine makes the trek to Sutter Creek to scrimmage Amador starting at 11 a.m. Golden Sierra will scrimmage at Foresthill at 7 p.m.
According to John Williams, assistant commissioner of the Sac-Joaquin Section, schools hosting scrimmages can charge admission not to exceed $4 per person.
Four of the five schools will start the zero week season next Friday, Aug. 24. El Dorado will host South Tahoe and Union Mine will entertain El Camino. Oak Ridge plays at Vista del Lago, and Golden Sierra will play at Capital Christian. Ponderosa starts its season Friday, Aug. 31 when it hosts Valley of Sacramento.
