The Ponderosa freshman girls soccer team is a perfect 9-0 this spring and posted shutouts in its first eight wins. Overall, the Bruins have allowed just one goal while scoring 46. On the roster is Kylie Wright, Megan McFarlin, Marlee Duane, Lauren Joy, Taylor Silva, Gianna Anselmo, Cassidy Pensa, Jacquelyn Silverbush, Erin Ling, Avery Baker, Kendyl Maher, Emily Dahla, Caitlin Delaney, Natalie Palmberg, Molly Curry, Parker Olsen and Julianna Blaine. Former Bruin basketball alumni Brad Waldow, a junior at St. Mary’s, was selected by the National Association of Basketball Coached to the NABC Division I All-District 9 team. As one of 252 selectees from 25 districts, Waldow, currently playing in the NIT Tournament, is eligible for the NABC All-America team.


Another former Bruin, Makenzie Shivers, was named the American Midwest Conference women’s Golfer of the Week for two recent performances. A freshman at Park University in Missouri, Shivers led her team in scoring with a fourth and second place finish. Previously, she’s led Park U. to first and second place finishes.


Rescue’s Gary Logan aced the 15th hole at Apple Mountain Gold resort from 102 yards out. Ask Johnnie Yaws.
