El Dorado track and cross country coach Peanut Harms will be honored as the State Boys Track Coach of the Year at the California Coaches Association’s 56th annual awards banguet in June in Fresno.


Former 4-year Ponderosa varsity wrestler Jesse Routsong was named a Daktronics/NAIA Scholar Athlete for 2012-13 at Embry Riddle University in Prescott, Arizona, one of 32 NAIA wrestlers nationally to achieve this award.

Routsong, who carries a 4.0 GPA in his Global Security/Intelligence Studies major, finished fourth in the CAL PAC/Frontier Conference and competed for the second time at the NAIA National Tournament in Des Moines, Iowa. He’ll graduate next spring.


Daniel Norton aced the 4th hole at Aple Mountain Golf Resort using an 8 iron from 138 yards out.


John Champlin used a 7 club for a hole-in-one at Apple Mountain Golf Resort on the 4th hole covering 138 yards.


George Leddy sank a hole-in-one on the 15th hole at Apple Mountain Golf Resort at a distance of 110 yards using a 52 club.
