Ponderosa’s Chris Snyder has accepted a full-ride offer to take his basketball career to Colorado and Regis University. This past winter, Snyder led the Bruins in scoring, rebounding and blocked shots. As a senior, Snyder was first-team All League and an Honorable Mention All Metro selection.


El Dorado High Athletics has annouced that David Pimentel and John Schafer will be Co-Head Coaches for the school’s wrestling program, replacing Robert Hart.


The Mountain Democrat has learned that the following athletes were selected in their respective sports to participate in this week’s Optimist All-Star games (see Schedule). Volleyball on Thursday: Union Mine’s Andrea Barnes; Ponderosa’s Tanner Charron. Baseball on Saturday: Union Mine’s RJ Blake; Ponderosa’s Parker Wright; Oak Ridge’s Tanner Ales. Trojan pitcher Austin Root was picked but is unable to attend.
