The victory gives the Gaels an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament, also known as March Madness, that begins later this month. St. Mary’s last visit in 2009-10 resulted in the team reaching the Sweet 16.
Waldow, a starting redshirt freshman, logged 34 minutes and pulled down eight rebounds with one block against the ‘Zags, the Gaels’ biggest nemesis in the WCC over the years.
Waldow is a 2010 Ponderosa graduate where he performed at an All League level for the Bruins.
