On Saturday, December 10th, more than 10,000 professional photographers world wide will unite through the organization HELP - PORTRAIT to give free portrait sessions to families who otherwise would not be able to afford it. Matt Molinari, Director of Christian Education at First Lutheran Church heard about this event and worked with Rene Evans of the Resource Center on Broadway in Placerville to bring this event to El Dorado County in 2010. This Saturday, seven photographers will set up two indoor studio sets and one outdoor set at Cold Springs Community Church, 2600 Cold Springs Road, with the goal of giving (not taking) portraits to 72 families. A local salon is donating their time to do hair and make-up and Studio 3 will be printing the portraits on site. Hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  If you are interested in having a portrait done, call Rene Evans at (530) 409-0123 for an appointment time. For more information on volunteering, go to the EDC Help Portrait Facebook Page: www.facebook.com/hpedc  More information about this world wide movement of photographers can be found at: www.help-portrait.com
