Mercury and Saturn Fight Club

The situation between Mercury and Saturn isn’t a peaceful, easy feeling. Rather, it’s a feeling like whatever you say can and will be held against you in a court of law. It keeps everyone on tippy toes, and that’s the good news. If ever there was a time to listen to your better angels and ignore the voices of lower instinct, this is it.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). If you do the hard work first and get it over with, your entire day will go better. You’ll walk around with a feeling of accomplishment that allows you to relax and be easy-going.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Common courtesies are not so common in the places you’ll visit. The power of “please” and “thank you” cannot be underestimated. You will spread gentle manners wherever you go.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You might get the feeling that others have it easier than you, and you won’t be wrong about that. They do. You’re working to get ahead. It’s all an indication of the position you put yourself in: upward mobility.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Delusion is a survival tool. Knowing this, you wouldn’t dream of casting doubt on another person’s belief, especially if that belief seems to be keeping a person active in a shared reality.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). It’s you against your fear. How is the match going to end? Much depends on the size and specifics of your fear. First and foremost, is it worth taking on? Is it something that is likely to be in your life on the regular?

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). The difficult times are training grounds. The fun times are playgrounds. Often the grounds are the same; it’s just the context in which they are being used that changes.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Your basic needs are well cared for, but there is still something that your secret heart desires. Dare to wish for it, and put your heart into that wish. Hope is like food. You need it to survive.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You will plant different kinds of seeds today, and so you can expect that the harvest you reap months from now will be completely different from that which you have taken to market before.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). The other cultures aren’t wrong; they are just different. Your observations and discernment will be called upon. What is righteous and integral in one situation may be completely wrong in another setting.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). There’s a fine line between trying to be interesting and trying too hard. You’ll walk it. Caring less about the outcome will help immensely. Remind yourself often: You have nothing to prove.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You have things on your mind now, for instance: How does a person go about consuming less? First, there is a realization about what is needed and what is not. Then there’s a choice to use only what’s needed.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). If everyone agrees that you are the best, you’re a big fish ready to move to a bigger pond. Bask in your glory for a short while, and then gather your strength. You’re about to make a leap.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Jan. 25). It’s your year to make memories. It takes more than a good memory to do this. You have a creative way of turning ordinary events into something special, and that will play into your best achievements. In April, your community will give back more than what you’ve put into it. There’s a financial bonus in July. Pisces and Capricorn people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 2, 19, 8, 22, 29 and 27.

The Obvious: Leo will take a group of people and turn them into an audience focused on Leo and enthralled by whatever the lion has up his sleeve. This is unifying. People in an audience have something in common with one another that they didn’t have before the show went on.

The Uncanny: Leos also will remember the random details of their friends’ lives — but not the details their friends would prefer they remember. It’s as though Leo is always collecting data for the next role or the next manuscript. Probably this is exactly the case.

The Weird: The lion is a predator. If you ever have a strange feeling that your Leo friend wants to take, eat or pounce on something of yours, protect it! Animal instincts are real. Don’t forget that humans are animals, too.

The Extremely Useful: Leo will help you put your best food forward publicity-wise.

The Quietly Helpful: If you are bored, Leo will unbore you. Often this sign has latent talents: musical, emotional, intrapersonal and more. Leo will employ them all to make a good friend smile.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Alicia Keys is an Aquarian diva who was born when the sun, Mercury and Mars were all in the sign of philanthropy. Her cosmic alignment suggests that Keys is likely to lead a musical movement that brings awareness to a suffering part of the world. Her Venus in Capricorn is further indication that this Aquarian pop star has what it takes to be a political leader through music.
