Pisces Moon Rules Cinco de Mayo

On this Cinco de Mayo, the Pisces moon gets us spiritually ready for changes to occur later in the week. When she goes void of course midday, she’s like a warm, fuzzy blanket tempting us to do nothing but snuggle and snore. This is not to say productivity will be low. In the long run, relaxation is a very productive thing to do.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). External signs of wealth don’t tell the full story. It will be enlightening to consider why a person would crave a symbol to set them above the rest and to ponder your own relationship with status and materialism.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Socrates said we should eat to live, not live to eat. But with the sun in your sign, appetites are strong, especially your own. Being around healthy people will help you make healthy choices.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). It’s nice to be praised, but you already get enough attention for what you do. Tell people that what you need now is the kind of attention you can put in your wallet.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Once you see things, you can’t un-see them. That’s why it’s good to be careful of where you go. Think about what you are likely to experience in a place before you venture inside.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Do you think you might be stopping yourself from moving forward in some way? If every seed contains the secrets to growth inside it, then the planter’s job is simply to create the proper conditions and get out of the way.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Instead of shying away from what might bring you emotional discomfort, move through it. If there is hurt to be experienced, it will soon give way to something beautiful.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Your elastic mind will go to the far reaches and then snap back home. As fun as imaginative solutions are to come up with, it’s probably the simple, practical thing that will help the most now.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Because you’re irresistibly drawn to a circuitous path, getting to your goal may seem to take forever. If you keep going, you’ll eventually get there and feel pretty good about it, too.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You’ll be more interested in other people’s business than usual — but you’re not exactly nosy. It’s more that you’re a student of human nature, and you really want to know whether your predictions are coming true!

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). When you like someone, you go out of your way to see that person smile, alleviate their stress or make them feel comfortable. But doing this for someone you dislike or don’t know shows true nobility.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). There are times when going over the past might help you make a better decision for the future, but this isn’t one of them. Your instincts are keen. Trust that you’ve learned your lessons, and make a move.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Your success strategy is so simple. It’s only three steps: 1. Say what you’re going to do. 2. Do it. 3. Repeat. You’ll end the day with a feeling of accomplishment.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (May 5). Risks you took nearly a year ago will pay off this month. You’ll be in a strong position to take care of business. As you tackle problems in June, your raw energy and can-do spirit will draw a crowd. Many will want to be on your team, but you should only take the most qualified applicants. 2014 will be filled with love and laughter. Cancer and Virgo people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 4, 25, 43, 31 and 49.

FORECAST FOR THE WEEK AHEAD: The spiritual Pisces moon kicks off Cinco de Mayo, a relatively minor holiday in Mexico that has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture in the United States. The cosmic landscape evolves this week, too, changing our point of view and shifting our sense of what’s important. The moon dims until Thursday, when it goes dark in Taurus. The Taurus new moon represents a time to get financial matters in order. It is a lucky time to set economic goals and intentions. And because this new moon also includes the first solar eclipse of the year, the implications are not only personal, but also global. World leaders will be expected to change policies and act to fix financial problems. Also happening on Thursday, love planet Venus changes her attitude as she slips into easy, breezy Gemini. This air-sign influence is all about communication, but not in the “I need to talk to you” kind of way. (Those who are experienced in relationships know that “I need to talk to you” is not usually a good omen.) Venus in Gemini speaks with casual ease, usually about nothing too important or heavy, and builds bridges to love in the process.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: On the acclaimed television series “Mad Men,” Vincent Kartheiser plays Pete Campbell, a struggling young partner in an advertising firm. His character is continually frustrated with the challenges of his business, but he’s never easily deterred by them, much like Taurus people in real life. They forge ahead with a strong sense of practicality and slowly but surely make a difference.
