Void-of-Course Moon

The current astral influences are a mixed bag. The Aries moon goes void of course early in the day and remains lackadaisical in tone until tomorrow. Mercury and Pluto counteract with a pleasant arrangement that favors direct, concise communication. The moods of others run the full spectrum, so assume nothing, and keep trying to connect.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). You can’t control what other people want, and it usually isn’t about you, anyway. You’re on a mission to find a good fit. Mutual benefits are the only benefits that interest you.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You see only your half of a relationship. You’ll never know exactly what the other person thinks and feels. It is likely that what is demonstrated is only the tip of the iceberg.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Your playfulness knows no bounds today. You’ll see most of your interactions as opportunities to spread warmth and silliness. Forging lighthearted connections is a noble pursuit.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). The beautiful part about living honestly is that questions won’t scare you. You’ll get some odd questions today, and you’ll feel perfectly comfortable expressing who you are.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Your life will be touched by an element of mystery and glamour. You’re smart, and you’ll figure out the illusion involved, but you’re also fun, so you’ll take your sweet time, enjoying the ruse.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Your emotional life gets a boost with today’s close encounter. This could be about making new friends, allowing yourself to be influenced or experiencing the rush that comes with new love.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Those who work for praise or the ego rush that comes from extra attention won’t be able to sustain a consistent workflow. Seek partners who use work as a means to learn, improve and share.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Well-meaning friends will give crummy advice. Just because someone is close to you doesn’t make him or her an expert on your life. It’s better to ask the real experts about the issues that affect you.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Even though you’re in the midst of a competition, it will benefit you to tone down the level of aggression and cultivate a spirit of harmony and cooperation. It’s easy to be generous when you know you’re going to win.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You do your most brilliant work when you lose your awareness of how you’re coming off, the time and all possible gains that could come of a project. Lose yourself, and you gain everything.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). A female figure will be important to the action. She will encourage you in just the right way and/or gently hold you accountable for what you wanted to accomplish.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Unusual circumstances could inspire you to behave in a way that is not typical of you. The response you get will be most enlightening, and there’s something concrete to gain from what you learn.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (May 7). This month you will meet someone new, immediately like that person and spark an epic relationship. Success in June depends on your ability to observe well and correctly analyze what you see. Actively seek mentorship. July is your chance to do a different kind of work. Home or transportation upgrades happen in August. Aquarius and Virgo people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 9, 2, 44, 48 and 19.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: “I graduated from college last year, and the past months have not been fun. I never see the friends who used to be a major part of my daily life. I can’t find a job. I don’t know how I’ll ever be able to move out of my parents’ house. My student loans are steep. So far, adult life is the worst. Also, I don’t have a boyfriend, and that fact only adds to my loneliness. What should a Scorpio history major do to get out of a terrible funk?”

Independence is important to most people your age, but to Scorpios like you, it’s critical. You prize your privacy, and you crave the freedom to make your own choices. To grow the spirit of independence in your life, take charge of whatever matters you can. It will all start with your financial picture. You may have to take a job that doesn’t line up with your history degree, and that will be far better than waiting around for the perfect opportunity. Become obsessed with finding a job you like and acing the interview process. A stellar attitude will be crucial. It’s good that you don’t have a boyfriend now, as this will help you focus on getting work.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Happy birthday to Peter Reckell, whose characterization of Beauregard Aurelius Brady kept “Days of Our Lives” soap opera fans swooning for two decades. The earthy Taurus is an avid environmentalist and an expert on green living — he designed his home to use alternative energy sources. Reckell’s natal moon and Saturn are in steamy Scorpio.
