Pisces and Aries Moon

Last night’s dreams were formed under the artistic and intuitive Pisces moon. There may be gems of information to mine there. The moon passing from Pisces to Aries announces that this is the sky of making something from nothing. The themes of the day will be showing and feeling, sensing and acting, creating on the heart’s impulses.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). You’ll perform. You’ll be nervous, but you’ll do very well. Keep dreaming about where you want to be. Then you can work backward to construct a framework for accomplishment.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). You’ll go head-to-head with an interesting opponent. Consider that one of your most excellent powers is the power to relinquish control. Being flexible and humble just may get you everything.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). You’ll be rewarded, but perhaps not in the way you wanted to be — and yet it’s better to be acknowledged than to be overlooked. You’ll accept all gifts graciously.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). The essence of knowledge lies in emotion, not thought. It’s not often that your intuition about a person or situation leads you astray, and others rely on your wisdom for guidance.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Struggle. Without it, you would never fully realize your potential and do the work you’re meant to do in this world. The breakthrough will come from your lowest point.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). To stand by and watch people struggle is not your style. You’ll jar them loose and help them get the project rolling. Your commanding style may not immediately be appreciated, but it will eventually be appreciated.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Your mission has always been to leave this world a better place than it was when you arrived. You don’t need to win the Nobel Prize. Just think about what it is you do best, and then do it.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). When you don’t know the customs, it is very easy to cross a line you didn’t know was there. Learn. Ask. This is the way you’ll keep in the good graces of the natives.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You’ll spend the better part of the day carrying out your promises. This is how it’s done. You postulate, agree and then make good on it. Then take a break — don’t skip that part.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). As comfortable as you may be around your loved one, you still don’t feel at ease around this person’s friends. Navigating extended social circles won’t be easy, but do it anyway — you’re better for it.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). There’s a problem to sort out. The dynamic is that someone else has authority over the scene — respect it. But also note that you have the power. Relax and play it cool.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You could be responsible for righting a wrong or at least illuminating the fact that it is wrong and explaining why. Share your opinion, and you’ll quickly learn that you’re not the only one who holds it.

TODAY’S BIRTHDAY (Aug. 13). As you go into your new year, you’ll feel like you’re flying. The next five weeks bring a happy change in your living situation. Unfinished business finally gets wrapped up in September. October is your chance at a prize. Get healthier in the new year. Your love life improves with January’s shot of vitality. Aquarius and Aries people adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 4, 33, 22, 31 and 6.

ASTROLOGICAL QUESTIONS: “What is an opposition? I was told that I was born when the sun and the moon were in opposition and that this could be problematic for me. Do you think it’s true?”

The second most powerful astrological aspect (after the conjunction) is the opposition. Planets are in opposition when they are 180 mathematical degrees apart from each other in an astrological chart. Think of two children on a seesaw at the park. They’re as far apart from each other as they can possibly be, and yet they share a common center. Planets in opposition have contradictory agendas, but there is still the possibility of finding balance in the middle. We on Earth may experience conflict and confusing push-pull feelings during oppositions.

As for the opposition in your natal chart, I wouldn’t call it “problematic.” I see it as a gift. It creates tension, yes, but tension can be the source of beauty. For instance, the tension of a guitar string is necessary for melodious expression. When there’s dissonance between your public self and the you inside, don’t be afraid or expect it to be different. Strive to embrace and accept the entirety of you.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Iconic filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock was referred to as the “Master of Suspense” for his manner of delivering psychological thrills and chills. Born when the sun and Venus were both in Leo, the sign of entertainment, it should not come as a surprise that Hitchcock’s moon was in Scorpio, the sign associated with the spooky side of life.
