October 2, 1953 – July 15, 2014

Mark Alan Nelson was born in Oakland, Calif. on October 2, 1953 and peacefully went to the lord, and all those he loved and lost on July 15, 2014. Son to Russell and Doris Nelson. Brother to Dennis, Michael, and Barbra. Survived by his wife Debbie of 33 years, his son Kyle, daughter Kelsey, her husband Joe, his granddaughter Honor, and many more family and friends.

During his 60 years with us, Mark had accomplished what many only hope to in their lifetime. He fulfilled his dream of becoming a pilot, he was one of few talented enough to try out for his favorite team, the Oakland A’s. Before starting his own family he was able to travel the world as a Merchant Marine Sailor. Mark started and finished a very successful contracting business that he and his wife developed 30 years ago. Although his life ended young, every moment spent, every memory he gave, every smile, and every word he spoke will forever live in all of us. The love and value of family will live on forever in our hearts. We love you Papa.

Please join us in a Celebration of Life for one of the greatest men to ever live on Aug. 9, 2014 at 12 p.m. at the Rescue Community Center, 4180 Green Valley Road, Rescue, Calif.
